Have rolled my chair out into the backyard to watch the fireworks. I can hear the big booms in the distance from the professional display in Marina del Rey mixed in with all the small ones here in the neighborhood. The neighbors to the east are doing a nice little backyard display. Some are snappy, bright, and tall, some are colorful but tame. Holy smokes! Someone on the next block just set off a huge fricking mortar that scared the beejeezus out of me with the huge-ass boom! I didn't hear it go up, and I actually covered my head. Although, to be honest, that is the reason I'm out here - to watch the cool, and highly illegal, mortars and stuff that the people on the next block always seem to have. Damn, they just did another one of the huge ones. I watched it climb into the sky, then flinched at the concussion. Very neat, very pretty, and VERY loud.
I'll probably be covered in mosquito bites tomorrow.
You might as well confess ... we've all done it. How often have you thought "if only I could just wave a wand and conjure up a glamour spell." Sadly, as Muggles, we have to rely on hairspray and make-up to hide our imperfections. The stories in this week's quiz have Hermione and Severus using a glamour for various sneaky and vanity related reasons. See if you can unmask the stories.
America I've given you all and now I'm nothing.
America two dollars and twenty-seven cents January 17, 1956.
I can't stand my own mind.
America when will we end the human war?
Go fuck yourself with your atom bomb
I don't feel good don't bother me.
I won't write my poem till I'm in my right mind.
America when will you be angelic?
When will you take off your clothes?
When will you look at yourself through the grave?
